The North Carolina Arboretum has received $26,000 from the Environmental Enhancement Grant, which provides $2 million a year for environmental projects across the state.
The money will go toward the arboretum’s Willow Pond Project, which will restore a wetland and process an estimated 7.6 million gallons of water annually. This will help produce cleaner water for those downstream.
