Matt Lobdell, Curator of Living Collections, The Morton Arboretum, will be partially supported in his graduate work in business administration at Benedictine University.
Evan Meyer, Executive Director, Theodore Payne Foundation, former Assistant Director, UCLA Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden, will attend the 2020 Conference on Mediterranean Type Ecosystems, hosted in Langebaan, South Africa.
Katrina Noland, Land Manager, Bok Tower Gardens, attended the 8th International Fire Ecology and Management Congress in Tuscon, Arizona and will visit Chanticleer in 2020.
Paul Orpello, Director of Gardens and Horticulture, Hagley Museum and Library, participated in the International Landscape and Garden Meeting in Bergamo, Italy and then visited historic Italian gardens. Paul is leading the restoration of the Crowninshield Garden, an Italianate ruin built in the 1920s and 30s.
The Chanticleer Scholarship promotes beauty without bureaucracy through professional development opportunities for public garden staff. With support from their gardens, Scholars select training and experiences in creativity and leadership. Each Scholar spends time at Chanticleer and visits other gardens and organizations. Applications are due July 1 and November 1 of each year.
